Updated Fraud Protection Call-Back Policy

As we begin the new decade, Beacon Trust is deepening our commitment to safeguarding your information and assets. Cybercrime and fraud are serious threats and constant vigilance is key. As such, we are enhancing our fraud protection call-back policy, with changes taking effect on February 3, 2020. For all wire transactions and for third-party overnight check requests1, a member of the client service team will conduct a call-back to an authorized agent on the account prior to completion of the money movement. These methods of money movements are often most vulnerable to fraud, because they move the money in the quickest way, and fraudsters typically want to get the funds as fast as possible.

What you can expect

For all wire requests and third-party overnight check requests1, regardless of method by which we receive the request, a member of the client service team will call you at your phone number on file. During the call, we will ask for your name, as well as ask you to confirm the details of the requested money movement. Even if the original request is received via inbound phone call, you can expect another member of the Beacon Trust team to call you back to independently verify the details of the money movement. Please visit www.beacontrust.com/about/our-people to see the names, photos, and biographies of all of our employees. Once we have verbally confirmed the request, we will complete the money movement.

Other steps to take together

Keep Beacon informed regarding changes to your personal information
Establish a direct deposit (ACH) instead of using a wire - money is available next day and does not incur fees at the receiving bank
Request checks via standard delivery instead of overnight delivery
